In the aftermath of a residential fire, families are often left navigating overwhelming loss and uncertainty. Through the Ronli Ratliff Memorial Fund, we provide support to help individuals and families begin rebuilding in the days and weeks after the immediate emergency response has passed.
In honor of Ronli’s memory, we are committed to showing up for others in their time of need.
Several organizations are equipped to provide immediate assistance following a fire. We strongly encourage families to connect with these resources first, as they can respond quickly to urgent needs.
Provides immediate emergency assistance, including temporary shelter, food, clothing, and personal care items.
Often provide initial support, guidance, and connections to local relief resources following the incident.
Offers local support for basic needs such as clothing, household items, and community-based assistance.
Many provide meals, donations, and volunteer support to help families begin recovery.
Township trustees may provide emergency assistance to eligible residents for essential needs such as housing, utilities, food, clothing, and other basic necessities. Contact your local township trustee to learn what assistance may be available.
RRMF may be able to provide additional assistance to help individuals and families continue their recovery after a residential fire.

RRMF is not an emergency response organization. Our support is intended for the days and weeks following a fire, when the immediate response has passed but families may still be facing significant needs.

Assistance may be considered for individuals and families who have experienced a residential fire and have an immediate need for essential items or basic necessities.
RRMF primarily serves Morgan County and surrounding communities. Each request is considered individually based on the circumstances, demonstrated need, and available RRMF resources.
Requests may be submitted by the affected individual or family or referred by a family member, friend, first responder, community organization, or other individual familiar with the situation.
Assistance is intended to address essential needs following a residential fire and may include:
Assistance varies based on individual needs and available RRMF resources.
Requests are reviewed by RRMF based on the circumstances of the fire, the needs of the individual or family, available resources, and the type of assistance requested.
Submitting a request does not guarantee assistance. RRMF will contact the requester if additional information is needed or once a determination has been made.
Depending on the need, assistance may be provided through gift cards, direct purchase of needed items, direct payment to a vendor, or another method determined appropriate by RRMF.
Whenever possible, assistance is provided in a way that directly addresses the identified need.
We understand that needs following a fire can be time-sensitive and will make every effort to review requests as promptly as possible. Response times may vary depending on the circumstances, available resources, and the information needed to review the request.
