On April 15, 2004, emergency responders were called to a house fire on Dayhuff Road, just outside of Mooresville.
Inside the home, 24-year-old Ronli Ratliff was found deceased. Investigators later determined that she had been killed prior to the fire being set.
The fire is believed to have been intentionally started in an effort to conceal evidence and complicate the investigation.
Despite ongoing efforts, no arrests have been made and the case remains unsolved.
Ronli’s case continues to be investigated by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department, with support from a dedicated Cold Case Detective Team.
In recent years, renewed attention and investigative efforts have focused on re-examining evidence, following up on leads, and encouraging the public to come forward with information.
Media coverage is selected based on its focus on verified facts and statements from law enforcement and official sources.
